According to international law, everyone is entitled to quality education.
Entitlement to education is not only the right to access education but also the right to receive an education of good quality. Education must also be acceptable and adaptable.
If all schools in Uganda had; competent and sufficient number of trained teachers, receiving good quality pre-service and in-service training with built-in components on gender sensitivity, non-discrimination, and competent salaries I guess our country today would not have a challenge of unemployment amongest our youth today which is quite alarming.
According to Primary Teachers Colleges (PTCs) working with Eco-Schools in Uganda, it is evident that the IVAC (Investigate, Vision, Action and Change) approach promoted by CECOD – FEE Uganda is a very good teaching - learning methodology. The approach emphasizes action based teaching and learning that is practical and experiencing on the part of the learners. It encourages critical thinking and the expression of ideas and perception of the real life situations guided by the teacher.
